Cheese and Marmite Puffs

These yummy and quick pastry pinwheels are great. I use a little marmite and some grated cheese: a little goes a long way and you don't want too much filling as you will struggle to roll the pastry up. But you can try fillings you like and whilst I am a marmite obsessive, its not for everyone! If your not a marmite lover then choose another filling: pesto, or cheese and chopped ham & so on...

  • 320g ready made puff pastry, ready rolled

  • 2 tablespoons of marmite

  • grated pasteurised cheddar

Preheat the oven to 180C (fan oven). Unroll the puff pastry, then thinly spread with marmite and sprinkle with grated cheese. Starting from the longer side, roll the pastry up into a tight sausage. You can then chill in the fridge until your ready to cook. Once your ready cut into pinwheels (1cm thick approx, I recommend cutting your pin wheels quite thinly, they'll cook quickly and you want the pastry will cook through completely)

Arrange the pinwheels on a lined baking tray and cook in the oven. They will puff up and turn a lovely golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool.
