Quick Glazed Salmon

glazedsalmon_12.jpg

This is the quickest roasted salmon dish for children and adults: although as stated below this is not suitable for babies. You make a glaze/ sauce from 5-ingredients, add chopped spring onions and then simply top the salmon. Before roasting in a hot oven. I serve this simply with rice, or noodles, as salmon is a rich-oily fish and the sauce is sweet and sticky: a plain starch makes a nice counter-balance. This is a quick and easy way to make a salmon fillet a little bit more exciting for supper.

Please note, this recipe is not suitable for babies/ or for weaning

honey is not for babies under 1 years and the soy sauce is also high in salt

Ingredients

  • 500g prime salmon fillet, preferably organic

  • 3-4 spring onions chopped

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 2 tablespoons runny honey

  • 3 tablespoons low-salt soy sauce

  • 2 or 3 garlic cloves, crushed (preference)

  • 1/2 or 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (preference)

  • rice/ or noodles, to serve

Preheat the oven to 180C (fan oven).

Take a baking tray and place the salmon fillet (s) on it, skin side down. In a bowl combine the marinade/ sauce: spring onions, oil, honey, low salt soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Pour over the salmon fillet (on the flesh side). Roast in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through, this may be slightly more/ or less cooking time, depending on how thick the fish has been cut. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving with rice, or noodles. You can spoon over any of the remaining sauce.
