Books #MimiLoves

Baby George has been waking up really early: I am not sure if it is a sleep regression, or teething... I am trying (through gritted teeth) to look on the bright side. I am using the extra hours, with George, to play and to organise one area of the house each day. We have been tackling everything from old clothes, to old toys and this week its been the kids books. I admit to buying way too many books and every so often I try and do a big clear out, to make way for new books and stories. We donate all the old books, which we have loved and want to part with.

So this week I thought I would share some of the baby books we love

If you have any good recommendations too - please send them my way!

0-12 years ~ favourite books etc

  1. That’s Not My…. Series ~ I am still using the one’s my little girl had, and I have added a few more for George. Lots of sensory textures, which makes them exciting to read for little ones.

  2. Skip Hop Vibrant Village Peek & Play Soft Activity Book ~ this is one of the best soft baby books I have found, as it folds into a little stand up house, the black and white design is really eye catching and George loves playing with this one.

  3. Jellycat If I Were A Giraffe Children's Book ~ I love this little series of books, really tactile and matches the soft toy range that Jellycat make too

  4. Baby's Very First Touchy-Feely Book ~ I carry this around in the pram, small enough to fit in my bag!

  5. We're Going On A Bear Hunt Children's Book ~a classic and a family favourite. This is the book both George and Mima love, if we are all reading together.

  6. Dear Zoo Board Book ~ George has just learnt to open all the little doors, so we have great fun reading this after bath time. Another classic which has stood the test of time

  7. Rainforest Bath Book & Whos In The Ocean Bath Colouring Book ~ these are new discoveries with baby George, they change colour in the bath. He absolutely loves playing with them at bath time

  8. Wee Gallery Original art cards & Wee Gallery Jungle art cards ~ I bought these shortly after George was born and he still absolutely loves playing with them, these would make a brilliant/ clever baby gift too

  9. The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Finger Puppet Book ~ this little finger puppet version of the Hungry Caterpillar, is much loved. I absolutely recommend it

  10. Baby Book Subscription ~ I have just discovered this incredibly cute baby book subscription gift. This would be the best present for a friend with a new baby! I think I am going to do something similar for George’s 1st Birthday, which is coming soon.

One of my favourite things, is making a little memory of book of the first year: I love going through the old photos and records to pull this together. I am working on George’s for his first birthday. This is book you will both treasure in years to come, you can include everything from memories to photographs. I have also added baby foot prints, that I took when George was born. You can make this your own and fill it with treasures.
