What's On June

A round up of everything going on at Mimi's Bowl: as we enter June (how can it be June already?) there is a lot happening in the Mimi's Bowl Kitchen and this is also the final month for me before bump arrives. I am definitely feeling the pressure as when I had my daughter I was employed. Self-employment and pregnancy is a whole different ball game. I have been trying to fit in as much as possible, as if I am honest I am not really sure how I am going to juggle it all on the other side. It is definitely going to be a learning curve and a bit of an adventure, so I hope you will all join me.

First up, is this month's seasonal guide to June: everything thats delicious to eat right now in the UK. I hope you find this month’s seasonal list helpful than that you will get some ideas for your weekly shop. There is so much exciting new produce, so if you can get to your local green green grocer, farm shop or food market: for a fun family day out now is the time to go. We have always shared these monthly seasonal guides at Mimi's Bowl it really is at the very heart of our brand. I was absolutely amazed when I started weaning with my daughter about how little seasonal information there was for parents, with small babies. I have always believed babyfood and seasonal food should be aligned. My top pick for this month is all the gorgeous new Summer fruits which are at their best right now.

🌿broad beans

🌿peas

🌿asparagus

🌿spinach

🌿garlic

🌿new potato

🌿courgette

🌿cherries

🌿peaches

🌿apricots

We are also focusing on a new nutrition topic this month, with our partner paediatric dietician Bianca Parau. We are talking about: key signs your baby is ready to start weaning. I've asked Bianca so many questions from: signs, to the general guidelines and advice for parents before getting started. I am planning to prep a weaning wish list too, so if you are starting your baby eating adventure soon this is the kit I can recommend and found really useful. There is nothing like tried and tested kit and advice!

Happy June everyone xx Mimi
