Easter Holiday Fun

The Easter Holidays are well underway and the juggle is on. I hope you have some fun plans over the break and may the force be with you, whist nursery and school is out… I have put together a little guide for Easter, with my top picks to decorate your home, including ideas for gifts (which aren’t chocolate). I have also included some links for activity ideas, to keep little ones occupied. A key mission for me!

Remember this holidays that chocolate is not suitable for babies under 1 years and ideally not for children under 2 years old, as it contains caffeine. There are plenty of healthy recipe ideas for sweet treats on our website: so head over to the recipe section for inspiration

Enjoy the break

Activities for the holidays ~

Press Out & Colour In Easter Eggs Book, such an easy colouring activity to keep everyone busying you can use them as decorations too

Paint Your Own Easter Eggs love this little kit from Sainsburys

Decorating Plant Pot Kit also from Sainsburys, this is such a great kit. Once they are made you can plant them up with some spring seeds and watch them grow!

Finger Painting Activity Book my daughter loves these books, they are great fun to fill in and messy (which she loves…)

Biscuit Cutters get your family involved in the kitchen, how about a batch of biscuits or cookies (lots of ideas on the Mimi’s Bowl website too)

Wooden Bunny Push Alongs lovely for smaller kids to keep them occupied

Wellies splashing around outdoors I don’t know what the weather holds over Easter but I like to be prepared! Love these fun wellies

Balloon Making Kit with a bunny theme, my kids would love these

Decorations ~

Spring Bulb Glasses these are beautiful and a lovely way of bringing Spring bulbs into the house, top of my wish list

Decorative Eggs we have dogs who cannot eat chocolate, so I love this set of decorative eggs. You can buy a few each year and stock up on decorative eggs (instead of chocolate), which you can hide safely in the garden for an egg hunt

Easter Rabbit these are such fun and you can reuse them year in and year out, love the little spotted egg!

Egg Hunt Signs you can make a hunt all the more exciting with these lovely signs, I have bought these for this year’s hunt at Granny’s house

Felt Garland to decorate your kitchen with, or table. I like gathering blossom branches and hanging small decorations from them. Its a lovely reminder Spring is here!

Bunny Bags I love the rainbow colours of these cloth pastel bags, great for finding eggs on a hunt

Rabbit Light this is not just for the holidays! I love the quirkiness of this bedroom light, for bedtime stories and quite time

Golden eggs for decorating your house, to add a little sparkle these are gorgeous

Present ideas ~

Ideas other than chocolate! Babies under 1 years shouldn’t have chocolate and ideally not before 2 years old. So I wanted to look at other fun ideas for holiday gifts. Here are my top picks.

Spot books a flashback to my childhood, and one for baby George

Little Chick soft toy for cuddling

Peter Rabbit always a classic family favourite

Moulin Roty Tin Egg with a toy inside, another break from sugary treats, this little egg houses a small toy. It is great that the tin can be re-used too for collecting treasures

Bunny Socks there is a running joke in my house that we always have lost & spare socks, I am forever trying to match pairs… How about a new set, with some seasonal bunnies on them for extra cuteness

Egg Cups I love this design from Buddy and Bear, we have this at home and I have used it a few times in the Mimi’s Bowl feed

Mini Book Set I love any little books, like these one, that I can take out and about with me. Perfect for tucking into my handbag or the pram

Dressing Up from my favourite brand by Wild Things Funky. I love their costumes as they are well made and last beautifully, I still have all of my daughters. The fabric is also not cheap or shiny, like so many of the kids costumes out there
