Halloween & Bonfire Night


It is Halloween, 1st November and Bonfire Night all this week: so I am making a few fun ideas for the festivities. My little girl and I are making some Gingerbread for Halloween and cutting the gingerbread into shapes together: this is a last sweet treat idea for Halloween night. For 1st November I'll be sharing our In Season picture of all the fruits and vegetables that are good to eat right now. And, for Bonfire night I'll be making Cheese and Marmite Pinwheels, which are the perfect vegetarian option for fireworks night (last week I posted mini sausage rolls too as another idea). 

There are a few new seasonal recipes too: I will be cooking a warming Fish Pie with Sweet Potato Mash: a classic that works for the whole family. Creamy Butternut Squash Pasta, which would work well as a weaning recipe too with baby pasta. Finally, a Plum Cinnamon and Oat Crumble,  a healthy sweet treat which we sometimes like for breakfast. You can use other seasonal fruit too, if you prefer: apples and pears would work beautifully. Lots of new ideas and hopefully some you might want to try too.
